1.Start-up Modes
All of the YardsTech® devices can be started in one of the following modes.
1.1 Available Modes
The modes are as follows:
-
Standard/Configured Mode: this is the mode that has been configured for the device. This could be the default configuration (for a new/unaltered device) or it could be a configuration as set by the user. This is normally the start-up mode that you should be using.
-
Hotspot/Access Point Mode: selecting this mode uses the standard configuration (see above) with one change ... the device is always started as a WiFi hotspot (also know as an access point). This mode is used when the device is stand alone and you need to connect a mobile device and the YardsTech
® App
to it for the purposes of changing it's configuration.
-
Safe Mode: in this mode the device starts in hotspot mode (see above), but most other functionality is disabled. You should not use this mode unless instructed to by FarmXL support.
1.2 Switching Modes
With the device turned off you select the required mode by how long you hold the power button in while starting.
-
Standard/Configured Mode:
Hold the power button until the red activity light come on, then release the button.
-
Hotspot/Access Point Mode: Continue to hold the power button until the red activity light goes out, then release.
-
Safe Mode:
Continue to hold the power button until the red activity light comes on again, then release.
1.3 Identifying the current mode
Once the unit has been started you can identify if you are in the correct mode by if and how the red activity light is flashing.
-
Standard/Configured Mode:
The light is on permanently i.e. not flashing.
-
Hotspot/Access Point Mode: The light slowly flashes (on, then off every 2 seconds).
-
Safe Mode:
The light flashes quickly (flashes 6 times a second).
